EYES:THE LIGHT OF THE BODY

EYES:THE LIGHT OF THE BODY
Luke 11:31
The light of d body is d eye:therefore when thine eye is single, the whole body is full of light, when thine eye is evil, thy body also is full of darkness.

Developmentally,  it is a part of d brain,  during conception the eye begins to be formed from as early as the 3rd week of foetal development.

The eye functions mainly for vision.  However without adequate illumination, vision is impaired.

So light is very important for seeing and that may be the reason why in the beginning of d world,  God created light first, (Gen. 3-5) and then again on d 4th day,  he perfected work on d light I. E for the day and for the night (Gen 1:14-15) man needs light to see even at night.

IMPORTANCE OF EYES
1) Vision drives Development,  therefore children who suffer visual deprivation will experience delay in learning,  may suffer defects in motor functions,  problems with language development and in oral skills. About 80% of children who are blind don't go to school and most die within 2-3 years.

2) Of all five recognised primary senses vision contributes the most 83% to learning.

3) Vision makes independent living possible.

4) The Eye mirrors diseases in the body. E. G.
Hypertension
Diabetes
Cancers
HIV
Arthritis

We can also infer that vision is important from the healing ministry of Jesus Christmas.  In almost all places Jesus Christ visited he restored vision to the blind.  Mat.  11:5, Mat.  12:22, Mark8:23-25, Mark10:46-49
