He asked "Why are you still trying?" I said "I don't want to see, I know exactly what I will, I want to act in my ignorance. I prefer the struggle, maybe it might be different,
give it time. I really want this. I have put in too much time to give up right now. Maybe if I go again. I'll go again. I just... Truth be told I don't know. Can we talk about something else?"
We don't appreciate the things we have or are. Instead, we want. We struggle for things we don't have and try so hard to keep things we don't want to lose. People we don't want to lose. People who have become what we want because we have looked at them long enough to stop seeing them. We just don't see what it is that keeps us drawn to them but we are scared that if we lose them we'll find out. We want to understand the attraction. We don't want to see them because we don't want to power to shut it off. We are too afraid of the knowledge.
We want to be blind, it's better that way. Because once we see, we feel. Deeper than ever before, we feel. The intensity of the feeling lets us act. We are not afraid to act. But we are afraid of the results of our actions. So we plead. We endure. We hope.
I don't know if time changes anything. But if you're not ready, don't rush it. Once you see, it will be too different. Can we talk about something else?
