VIEW POINT: ABORTION by Tatama Deborah Fori

First attested in the mid 16th century, was the cessation of fetal development. The arrested development of a foetus - an artistic atrocity, an ABORTION.
The ethical issues, whether abortion is right or wrong has not reached any general n. Whether abortion is right or wrong is seen from different perspectives- morally, medically, religiously. We are all just looking from our points of view.

The medical point of view seems to look solely at the health and well being of the woman and child. One out of a number of circumstances, where abortion is medically necessary, is a situation of ECTOPIC pregnancy, where the foetus grows outside the uterus. The mother have no choice but to abort the pregnancy. Therefore, there are certain medical conditions that require abortion.

On the other hand, it is not advisable as the process might lead to destruction of viral reproductive organs, and if poorly carried out, it might lead to contraction of terminal diseases and also death should it be unsuccessful, as some recorded cases of bleeding after abortion.
They also posit that the application of abortion by married couples, should be and family planning should be applied, as abortion is a non-contraceptive from of birth control.
On a moral stance, it is immoral to take a life, for life is based on the presence of a foetus. Abortion may be necessary, depending on the state of the pregnancy, because one life would rather be lost than two but better none. However, it should be avoided. If a person's argument is that she cannot support the child, a better solution is to give the baby up for adoption, many people are in need of kids.
Now looking at things from a religious perspective based on the faith of people from certain religions (Christianity, Judaism etc.), abortion would be seen as breaking one of the commandments given by God, as the life of an unborn child being taken away is quite synonymous to actual killing. Abortion was created by man, not God which means it is a means of. Providing for yourself a way out of something which was not designed by God. It is purely seen as man's attempt to create a solution for himself. This, considering the human genetic make up in totality, the act of abortion is absolutely preposterous, because it entails the complete destruction of an unexplainable beautiful work of art, by a force rather supreme than natural. It is inhumane.
Personally, abortion is not an option for me. I believe nothing is impossible, and this means I'm not one to believe I would die merely because the doctor says so. I believe it is rather selfless and generally altruistic to give the baby up for adoption, or to give the baby to an orphanage home where the baby has the blessing of living and learning to survive. There are a lot of people wishing away their guilt due to such rash decisions that have been made. We have to think hard!
